Welcome to October, everyone! I don’t know about you, but I am pumped for the month ahead—fall weather, and Halloween candy, and reasons to wear cozy sweaters even more often than I already am. And yes, that also means movie marathons of all our favorite Halloween classics are in store. I’m personally more of a Coraline fan than a Hocus Pocus obsessive, but hey, whatever floats your boat! I don’t judge.
Before you start diving into all the holiday entertainment Netflix has to offer, though, take a few minutes to read this week’s edition of Did I Tell You About… and get some more pop culture recommendations in your life, below. Enjoy!
I’m watching: PEN15 on Hulu. I know I am late to the game (Season 2 premiered last month) but whatever, because this show is so funny. I’m only halfway through the first season, but already I’ve found myself dying over at least dozen hilarious, painfully cringe-worthy moments. Middle school was a time, y’all.

I’m reading: The Truants by Kate Weinberg. I’m not too far into this thriller yet, but consider me hooked. It combines all my favorite things to read about: college, complicated friendships, and terrible secrets that get slowly revealed. What’s not to love?
I’m listening to: Dua Lipa’s album Future Nostalgia. Although it came out in March, I didn’t give it a good, full listen until recently, but now, pretty much every song is a staple on my running playlist. Highly recommend if you enjoy pump-up music with smart lyrics and super catchy melodies!
I’m thinking about: This profile of Jewel that ran in the New York Times earlier this week. Lest you forget, Jewel’s life is crazy, like, her-relatives-star-in-a-Discovery-show-about-Alaskan-hunters crazy (true story!). Even if you’re not a huge fan, this is a great read.
I’m obsessed with: How much Nicole Richie’s 12-year-old daughter looks like her. They’re twins, guys, like Reese-and-Ava level identical. It’s spooky!!
That’s it for this week, friends—tune in next Thursday for more, and feel free to let me know if you want more recommendations or anything else in this newsletter! All thoughts welcome.
